5 Favorite Fishing Sites

My 5 favorite fishing sites in Ft. Bend:

George Bush Park – Buffalo Bayou where it crosses Westheimer Rd.,  between the Freedom Park statue and the soccer fields. There is a clearing about 100 steps South of the Westheimer bridge and I understand some very large catfish, gar, crappies, and even tilapia have been caught there. Just bank fishing but there are some concrete benches. Parking is on the sides of Westheimer.

Mary Jo Peckham Park – Near Ave. A and Franz Road in Katy (5597 Gardenia Ln.) – Largemouth Bass, Bluegill, and Catfish plus it’s stocked with rainbow trout in the winter. Restroom and children activities are also available.    Link

Eldridge Park Pond –  Sugarland at Eldridge and W. Airport. Catfish and Largemouth bass are stocked bt TPWD as well as rainbow trout in season. A nice clean area with a wharf, concrete trails, benches, and parking. Link

American Legion Park Pond –  Lexington Blvd. near Hwy 1092. stocked with bass, catfish, bluegill, sunfish and in season with rainbow trout. Clean, parking, restrooms, concrete trails, and 2 floating piers. Link

Oyster Creek, 4033 Hwy 6 in Sugarland, 77478, just South of Hwy 59. A very popular fishing spot with parking, restrooms, indoor and outdoor activities and excellent fishing reports. Catch bass, crappie, catfish, sunfish and more.  Link

In addition to these spots, there are over 35 other lakes and fishing holes available for public fishing in Fort Bend County.
